Spirit artist born in 1882 In London. Madge Gill began creating in 1919, inspired/conducted by a siprit guide she called « Myrninerest » ; she first used knitting and embroidery, then drawn mostly with China ink on card. Her drawings are characterized by geometric patterns, and women figures in flowing clothings. Her work took many forms : from hundreds of postcards, until textil rolls long of several meters.
Madge Gill is considered as one of the most important classic art brut artist. Her work is part of numerous prestigious museums and private art collections.
